Obituary for Afram Khouri

Afram Khouri, 91, of Closter, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. He passed peacefully surrounded by his family. Born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon, he immigrated to the U.S.A. in 1969 and resided in Closter since 1980. A man of strong faith, he was a member of the Assyrian Orthodox Church of the Virgin Mary in Paramus.

Afram worked for many years as an accountant for several companies and also owned a jewelry store before retiring.

Family was everything to him and he spent his life enjoying many family celebrations. He was a strong compassionate soul, who touched many lives with his sense of humor and fun loving nature.

Beloved husband of the late Mary Khouri. Loving father of Caroline Polek and husband Gregory, Dr. Peter Khouri and wife, Sandy, Jenny Naples and husband Glenn. Cherished grandfather of Allison, Kristen, Kate, Michael and Audrey. Dearest brother of the Very Reverend John Khoury, and the late Thomas, Gabriel, Jacob and Joseph Khoury.

A funeral service is planned for Saturday, January 21st at 10am at the Assyrian Orthodox Church of the Virgin Mary, 644 Paramus Road, Paramus, NJ 07652. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Afram to the Assyrian Orthodox Church of the Virgin Mary General Fund would be appreciated.
