Obituary for Anthony Joseph Franchina
Anthony J. Franchina, Sr., 74, peacefully passed away on May 13th, 2023. Anthony was born in Passaic, NJ to Joseph and Vincenza Franchina. He attended Passaic High School, where he met, and later married, his high school sweetheart Nellie Matias. They raised their children Anthony Jr. and Melissa in Elmwood Park, where they resided for 45 Years. Anthony and Nellie then settled down in Franklin Lakes, and enjoyed a loving marriage of 53 years before his passing.
Anthony worked as a garment cutter at Ornstein Fashions, where he took great pride in the work he did there. He was a loving husband and father, but what he loved most was being a Papa to his two grandsons. He loved working outdoors, collecting baseball cards and medieval knights, and was a big movie buff, especially old westerns.
Anthony is survived by his beloved wife Nellie and his children Anthony, Jr. and Melissa Franchina. He is also survived by his grandchildren Anthony III and Matthew Franchina. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Joseph Franchina.
