Obituary for Bruce A. Donnelly

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bruce “Bob” A. Donnelly. Born in Paterson, NJ, he was a long-time resident of Fair Lawn. Bob unfortunately succumbed to his long battle with Cancer on March 27th, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones.

Bob was a successful sales manager for many years, in the steel industry. He was responsible for training many successful salesmen under him and excelled in his profession before retiring in 2020. He was a very devoted and loving husband who would always help anyone he could, especially his family and friends. He loved gambling and taking casino trips with his wife Lena. He was known as the man you could count on for anything, he’d give you the shirt off his back if he thought it would help someone. If you needed directions, he was your guy, if you needed a job, he’d find one for you, if you needed a place to stay, he’d move you into his home in a second, if you needed his advice, he was happy to lend his support, if you wanted comps at the casino, say no more, he was on the way to pick you up! Bob loved to laugh and joke with his friends and family, often playing jokes on them and dressing up for every Halloween, the kids would all wait to see what he was going to be every year. We will forever hold these memories dear to our hearts. Although the family is broken-hearted, we do find comfort in knowing he had a life well lived and that he’s in a better place, finally at peace now.
He was a devoted and loving husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, and friend to many. He is survived by his beloved wife Lena Donnelly, of 35 years, his daughter Marissa Magliaro, her husband Garret Magliaro, son Peter Donnelly and stepdaughter Donna Goossen. He was predeceased by his son Blake Donnelly in 2020 and by his stepson Edward Andreuzzi in 2018. He was loved by his many grandchildren; Niya, Ariel, Nathan, Maeve, Mia, Valerie, her husband Cade, and Jessica. He also leaves behind his great grandchildren, Cameron, Alexis, Cade Drue, Giuliana, Malachai and Jeremiah. He was a loving uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews as well.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate any donations made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in his name.
