Obituary for Cecilia M. Bawiec
Cecilia Bawiec, formerly of Jersey City, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 9, 2023.
She was a long-time parishioner of St. Paul’s of the Cross Church, a member of the Rosary Society and a Eucharist Minister. She spent a lot of her time volunteering at church functions and nursing homes. She loved nothing more than spending time with her much adored grandchildren, going to bingo and performing in various musicals and the church choir.
She was a loving, caring, generous wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her eyes filled with joy whenever her grandchildren and their friends were around. Hearing their laughter made her happy.
Upon moving to Bergen County, she became a parishioner at St. Philip’s Church in Saddle Brook where she was a regular at Friday Night Bingo. She loved taking long walks to stay in shape, no matter what the weather, and whenever offered a ride she would always refuse. You could always hear her humming a tune and her dancing shoes were always ready to go whenever she got the chance.
She is predeceased by her husband, Stanley Bawiec, sisters Kitty Ryan, Mary Weber, brothers Patrick and Frank. She is survived by her daughter, Theresa Ippolito, her husband Gary, grandchildren: Jessica and Nicholas; son, Stanley, and sister, Florence Kinsella.
