Damien Hamlin, 53, passed away on March 29, 2023. Damien, affectionately known to family and friends as Dee or Truck, was born in Ridgewood, New Jersey and grew up in Glen Rock and Englewood. He graduated from Glen Rock High School as a member of the Class of 1990 and the Glen Rock High School varsity football team. After high school, Damien worked for the Village of Ridgewood Department of Public Works for twenty-eight years. In his spare time, he helped lead the MacMurphy’s Flighting Irish darts team to the 2005 ABCD league championship.
Damien was an avid New York Giants fan who could be heard enthusiastically rooting for Big Blue on Sundays. He was also a music lover who could often be found singing along and dancing like no one was watching to his favorite tunes. Damien will be remembered for his big smile, infectious laugh, and genuine kindness. To know Damien was to love him. It was impossible to not feel good when Damien was around.
Damien is preceded in death by his father, Herbert Hamlin, Sr. Damien is survived by his mother, Mary Baker; stepfather, Vincent Baker; stepmother, Prudy Hamlin; siblings Herbert Hamlin Jr. (Maria), Sean Hamlin (Anissa), Remi Salas (Dennis), and Ollie Hamlin (Mayte). Damien was a beloved uncle to Alyse, Andre, Aaron, Aiden, Alexis, Eden, Megan, Hector, Gabriel, and Angelyse; and great-uncle to Noelle, Khai, Logan, and Kyndall.
Damien will be greatly missed by his extended family and friends.
