Gerald “Jerry” Saltzman, Jr. 72, died October 26, 2022 with family by his side in Palm Coast, Florida.
Jerry was born July 20, 1950 in Passaic, New Jersey to Gerald Saltzman, Sr. and Evelyn Kardis Saltzman.
He graduated from Pompton Lakes High School in 1968. Jerry served in the U.S Marine Corps during the Viet Nam era as an infantryman with the rank of Private First Class. He worked in newspaper distribution for various companies for over thirty years and was a member of the Newspaper and Mail Deliverers’ Union.
Jerry enjoyed spending time playing the lottery, watching horse racing, and was an active veteran. He volunteered and raised funds for worthy causes especially for children and veterans. He also enjoyed good food and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his children; David (Michele), Jason (Rebecca), Joyelle (Ronald); granddaughters, Gracie, Ruby, Quinn; siblings, Lynn (Scott), John (Sandy), James (Gloria); and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Vander Plaat Colonial Home, 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ on Friday, November 18th from 5 – 8 p.m. Memorial Mass to be held at St. Mary's RC Church, 17 Pompton Ave, Pompton Lakes, NJ on Saturday, November 19th at 10:30AM. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Toys for Tots or Oasis - A Haven for Women and Children, located in Paterson, New Jersey.
