Obituary for Heinrich R. Luensmann
Heinrich Rudolf Luensmann passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 19, 2022. Heinrich was born February 12, 1935, in Gut Veerse, Germany, immigrating to the United States with his wife and daughter in 1964, living in Fair Lawn, New Jersey since 1967.
Prior to his retirement in 2012, Heinrich was self-employed as Henry’s Upholstery in Fair Lawn. An avid soccer player since his youth in Germany until into his 70s, he also played tennis until 2012. Additionally, he enjoyed biking and ping-pong.
Heinrich was predeceased by his beloved wife, Irma (nee Cordes). Devoted father to Henry Luensmann, and Annette (Keith) Orr. He also leaves behind his sister, Marlene Zuehlsdorff, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit on Monday, October 24, 2022, from 4-7 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Colonial Home, 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn N.J. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, New Jersey.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Heinrich may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church in Fair Lawn.
