Obituary for John Ribarich

John W. Ribarich, age 81 of Fair Lawn, NJ, departed this life on Thursday, April 13th, 2023, to be reunited with his soul mate and best friend, his beloved wife, Ellen, in God's kingdom. John was born in Hackensack, NJ and was raised in Ridgefield Park NJ. He resided in Fair Lawn since 1965. John was a parishioner of St. Anne's R.C. Church in Fair Lawn, NJ; A graduate of Ridgefield Park Highschool, class of 1959; graduate of Steven's Institute of Technology in Hoboken NJ, class of 1964 earning a B.S. degree in chemistry. John met the love of his life, Ellen, on a blind date on Columbus Day, 1963. They were married June of 1965, and spent 48 wonderful years together until Ellen passed away in 2013. John spent 44 years in the chemical industry; first with Pfister Chemicals in Ridgefield, NJ for 38 years as a research and development chemist, later becoming a production supervisor and then production manager. John worked for Fruitarom USA in North Bergen, NJ as a warehouse manager for the fragrance division until his retirement. John retired in 2009 to become the caregiver for his wife Ellen, and remained her caregiver for the last years of her life.

John was a passionate fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers since 1969, and had a large collection of Steelers collectibles. He was especially happy that his children and grandchildren also became Steelers fans. John loved animals, especially beagles. John enjoyed his daily walks, watching movies, playing Madden NFL on Playstation, the ocean, gardening, decorating his home for Christmas, listening to classic rock music, reading, and muscle cars; John's favorite was his 1970 Chevelle SS396 that he owned. Most of all John loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren.

Loving and devoted father to: Mathew Ribarich Sr. and wife Evelyn; Cheryll Post and husband Jeffery; John J. Ribarich and wife Cindy; and Michael Ribarich. Cherished grandfather and " Pop-Pop" of Victoria and Matthew Ribarich Jr; Brianna Post; and fraternal twins James and Jonathan Ribarich.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in John's name to either the Paralyzed Veterans of America or the Bergen Animal Refuge of Teteboro, NJ
