Obituary for John Nelson Sahatjian, Jr
John N. Sahatjian Jr. – passed away suddenly on March 15th at the age of 73.
Born in Passaic, John grew up in Fairlawn and attended St. Annes Catholic school and graduated from Fairlawn High School in 1968. He went on to attend classes at the New York School of Interior Design.
John spent many years as co-owner and operator of Nelson Decorators and went on to have a highly successful career in sales. He designed and built his dream home at the Jersey shore and spent the last several years there. He was an avid Corvette enthusiast, enjoyed spending time with his son Mark, was always there to help someone with a project, playing golf and going to the beach with family and friends.
Nippy, as he was known to many, would share stories and adventures of his youth and always make us laugh until we cried. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
He was predeceased by his mother, Edith and father, John Sr.
He is survived by his sons Mark (Danielle), John (Nicole), partner Gail of 35 years, sister Marilyn (Vinnie), nephew Vinnie (Denise) and beloved dog, Pluto.
