Obituary for Margaret McKiernan

Margaret "Peggy" McKiernan passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at the age of 98. She lived independently until late January of this year.

Peggy was born in Manhattan and known as Nanny as she was affectionately called by many, especially her children and grandchildren. She loved being with family and friends. Having many grandchildren, her great grandchildren liked to call her "Nanny Mac." She loved it and so did they.

She is predeceased by her parents "big" Mike and Mamie Kelly; her two younger brothers Joe and Gerard Kelly. She married her forever husband Tom, also from NYC, after the war in 1945. They were married for 66 years when he passed in May of 2012. Peggy and Tom lived in
NYC until they moved to Saddle Brook where Peggy lived for the rest of her life.

Nanny is survived by four children Maureen, her partner Dick; Peggy Ann, her husband Bill, Fran, her partner Walter; Patrick, his wife Phyllis; eight grandchildren Kelly, Philip, Susan, Amy, Nancy, Tommy, Ian, and Alyx; and saving the best for last 4 great grandchildren Ryan, Tommy, Hunter and Tucker. Peggy is also survived by her brother Robert Kelly and his wife Elaine.

She will be missed by many.
