Obituary for Patricia K. Scerbo

Patricia "Pat" Scerbo was born to parents, Timothy Patrick and Frances Jane, seventy-five years ago. One of five sisters, she grew up in Fair Lawn, attending St. Anne's RC Elementary School and enjoying traveling with her family. She excelled at ice skating, along with being a lifeguard and swim instructor, at Memorial Pool during her teenage years. She attended Fair Lawn High School, where she developed a love for literature and drama and was also a cheerleader. Pat graduated from Trenton State Teachers College, with a BA in English and Drama. Pursuing politics in California and on the Citizens Action Committee in NJ, she eventually became an adjunct English instructor before marrying John Scerbo in 1988, residing in Fair Lawn, and starting up her own brick-and-mortar/online jewelry company, Victoriana Originals. Throughout her life, Pat was passionate about developing her artistic gifts, not only creating beautiful jewelry designs but also teaching herself to play the guitar well, in addition to writing and publishing poetry, and engaging in fabric construction and copper rubbing during her sojourn in Europe. On March 01, 2023, Pat passed peacefully after a difficult bout with lung cancer. Indeed, Pat was a many-faceted, creative, and brilliant soul who will be remembered lovingly by her family: her devoted husband, John (Jack); sisters and significant others (Jane and former husband Jean; Sheila and husband John; Nancy and husband Rick; and Terri and wife Kerry); and her wonderful nieces and nephews (Jenni, Gabby, Tim, Jeremy, Joshua, Sascha, Bridget, and Ryan). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at a later date at the family’s convenience.
