On Tuesday, October 25, 2022, Rene Antonio Labit, also known to many as Tatane, passed away at the age of sixty-two. He was born on July 4, 1960 and was raised in Pagsanjan, Laguna Philippines. He graduated from a University in Manila with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He lived in Fair Lawn, New Jersey with his wife and friend, Liza Llamas, his two sons Renz and Lanz, who will always remember their Tatay’s wittiness and loving nature, and his only daughter Charliz, who was a Daddy’s girl, best friend and confidante, who considered him her first love.
Rene was a man of success – who lived well, laughed often and loved a lot. He gained the respect from everyone he knew. He left the world better than he found it. Rene never lacked appreciation or failed to express it, he always looked for the best in others and gave the best he had. Rene worked many years in Stepan Company in Maywood NJ as a Chemical operator. He forged many friendships along the way and always worked hard to provide a better life for his family.
As Tatay Rene, he was a very simple man with a simple dream. Rene loved gardening,
fishing, and cooking for his family and his friends. Rene or Tatane can be synonymous to the words shy, simple, humble, generous and kind. However, very few knew about his amazing wit and sense of humor. There is an indescribable amount of grief after losing a husband, a father and a friend. Losing a husband and a father often means losing a protector, a guiding hand, a best friend, and a superhero. But focusing on all the incredible memories Rene shared and the amazing man he was can help bring light into the darker days.
