Obituary for Robert W. Landzettel
Robert W. Landzettel “Bob” of Mahwah passed away peacefully on Monday, May 22, 2023 at the age of 88. Born in Paterson he was raised in Fair Lawn. Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army. He graduated from Fair Lawn High School in 1953, furthering his education he graduated from Bucknell University where he earned is Bachelors Degree in 1957.
He was the owner & operator of Landzettel & Sons, Inc. in Fair Lawn, the Mayor of Fair Lawn from 1973-1974, past President of the Fair Lawn Chamber of Commerce and the Metro NY Paint and Coding Association. Bob was one of the first founders of the Fair Lawn State Bank and was Chairman and member of the Fair Lawn Zoning Board. He was an avid golfer, a long-time member of the Arcola County Club in Paramus and the Van Riper Ellis Broadway Baptist Church in Fair Lawn.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Arlene Landzettel; sister Betty Kasperski; sisters-in-law: Gail Landzettel, Joyce Parodi, Blanche Candage and several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his daughter Linda Landzettel and brother Donald Lanzettel.
