Obituary for William C. Caspare

William C. Caspare "Bill” passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at the age of 77. Born in Jersey City to Muriel and William Caspare, he grew up in Dumont, New Jersey. An “Ironman” of Don Bosco Prep, he excelled in both academic and athletic pursuits.

Bill proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He achieved the rank of Corporal in his unit, the “Old Reliables” 9th Infantry, 1st Division, 11th Artillery, “Bravo” Bty. Upon his return home, he was decorated with the honorable Purple Heart medal for wounds received in the field.

Following his B.A. degree from St Peters University, Bill Settled in Glen Rock, NJ. He enjoyed a successful career in Private Wealth Management Serving as Senior Vice President and Regional Trust Officer at Wells Fargo in Glen Rock, as well as serving on The Bergen County Estate Planning Council. A Founding member of the OBOB Yacht Club, Bill was also an avid reader and lover of opera as well as classical music. In retirement, Bill took painting classes and continued to pursue his lifelong passion of golfing.

Bill is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years Karen F; two sons: Christopher W., his wife Kristina; Timothy E., his wife Robyn; two granddaughters B.B. and Simone; brother Martin and his wife Debra. Bill is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Vander Plaat Colonial Home, 13-31 Saddle River Rd., Fair Lawn on Saturday, February 18th, 2023 from 2:00 - 5:30 p.m. A Memorial Service will commence at 5:30 p.m. with military honors to follow.
